the tourists don’t know
what they’re missing
high summer
the depths
of these blues
unlikely muse
the drone of a neighbor’s mower
on a Monday evening
the flourish of midsummer day lilies
granite island
returning to sea level
one quarry at a time
answering back to the rain the river
high summer
behind the green wall
the calls of crows
peaceful afternoon
a piebald doe beds down
among tiger lilies
Fourth of July
an American Lady pauses
near the peace rose
i say one thing
but you hear another
hummingbird moth
rainy 4th the explosion of green
