courting finches
the bird bath shivers
with rain
morning news
a hard rain flattening
the daffodils
sunlight
in the kinglet’s song
bloodroot flowers opening
old cellar hole
a patch of daylilies
shines in the woods
red maple flowers
glow in afternoon light
another day at work
spring mist
the old weeping willow
shares its gold
heady perfume
of the orange grove . . .
an oriole’s morning warble
flushed from sun . . .
patches of owl’s-clover
along the river trail
mountain trail
a crevice in the rocks
hums with bees
golden anniversary
hanging lanterns light up
the live oak
Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
