solstice sun
blackberries in flower
arch over the path
following seas . . .
drawn-out goodbyes
on the crowded wharf
tangles of seaweed
dry above the tide line
mermaid dreams
gale-whipped waves—
a soaring gull
careens past the wharf
porpoises to port . . .
the horizon holds back
a line of clouds
septic pumpout—
the men stand around
discussing dragonflies
foggy crossing
yellow swirls of pollen
proof of land
forest gloaming . . .
a host of white moths
rises on thrushsong
seaside roses . . .
morning fog moves
through my bones
sudden downpour
the wren’s repeated rattle
from garden’s edge
slug weather
a hole chewed through
an amanita’s cap
