offshore breeze
a migrating osprey
sails past the lighthouse
spruce-filtered sun
the nonstop nattering
of nuthatches
wild asters
a migrating merlin
dives on the sun
morning oracle crow calls flow upriver
the rush of wings first light
cloudburst
new-fallen apples
shine in the mud
full moon tide —
the steady cadence
of late summer rain
last boat home
the foghorn
in my bones
moon shadows . . .
the lighthouse beam catches
a passing gull
September sun
a pot full of basil
perfumes the patio
washed-out sky
perhaps the last swallows
swirl overhead
