polar vortex
the UPS guy
still wearing shorts
the crow
wipes its bill on a branch
snow angels
single-digit cold
the glow of a streetlight
through icicles
all-night snow
the neighbors leave
their lights on
sideways snow
a cardinal cedes the feeder
to his mate
winter storm watch
heated conversations
about how much snow
winter meadow . . .
reading in the deer’s tracks
the moment she saw me
winter tracking
the deer want me
to get lost
more snow
than was predicted—
the river reflects sky
a new moon tide tops
the breakwater
granite sky
midwinter twilight
one last flight of ducks
lifts off the river
