new moon
lobster boats with women’s names
face into the tide
last leaves falling . . .
a barge slowly pushes
up the bay
morning light
a fishing boat’s hum
shifts as it leaves the harbor
a dory adrift
in a sea of daisies
onshore breeze
roses wet with fog . . .
a fishing boat rumbles
out of the harbor
passing downpour
a tanker’s long horn blasts
somewhere up the bay
Joined noted haiku poet and teacher Bruce Ross et al on a ginko (group haiku outing) on Mt. Battie this fine morning.
the wakes of boats
punctuating the bay
with hyphens
harbor seals
neither here nor there
island crossing
