rain softening
old snow — one crow
preens the other
all-day blizzard
over the roar of the wind
roar of the plow
winter storm watch
heated conversations
about how much snow
more snow
than was predicted—
the river reflects sky
blue-sky morning
snow sifts off the roof
of a passing car
only a gull
circling overhead
sleet and snow
reading the end first rain washes away the snow
afternoon flurries
air traffic backed up
at the bird feeder
polar vortex
the inflatable Santa’s
open arms
feels like snow . . .
one goldfinch shoos another
off the feeder
burnished fields before the snow buntings
