the weight
of being human
crushed dragonfly
sunset after rain
the lingering fragrance
of fallen apples
blue moon
through wind-blown spruce boughs
the flicker of bats
hurricane surge my anxiety hydroplaning
gravity
of the matter
ripening apples
stepping lightly
a fritillary
in the bergamot
rising wind —
our long conversation
about short poems
a stone wall has failed
to contain the forest
interrupted ferns
long marriage . . .
a spruce tree’s roots
embrace the bedrock
deep woods
wondering what path
she’s on now
river glare the osprey’s downward look
