home alone
giving the Christmas tree
one more night
only three days in
already forgetting
which year it is
the same color
as this morning’s sunrise
amaryllis
first day of the year
among cold beach stones
looking for hearts
New Year’s Eve
finishing the new puzzle
before midnight
a view of home
across the windswept bay
year’s end
Christmas fern
what else was green
under the snow
cardinal red
for once wishing the snow
won’t turn to rain
morning ritual
facing Venus
over the kitchen sink
snowy field
beyond the headlights
a herd of deer
church bells ringing
a flock of pigeons scatters
then gathers again
