morning fog
a dove sings
to me alone
persisting fog…
the way one day
follows another
between bursts
of firecrackers…
song sparrow
fledgling crows
voice their differences
thunder moon
new day
a jay sips raindrops
from the porch rail
filling in
around the rain
a sparrow’s song
heavy rain
after weeks of drought
the trills of tree frogs
summer fog
an ocean somewhere
to my right
morning fog
the clatter of a catbird
on the suet
farmers’ market
the scent of lavender
through my mask
morning birdsong
anticipating a call
from an old friend
