loses its head
shifting winds . . .
a cuckoo disappears
into the thicket
sin of pride
the crabapples
from our new porch
gathering
the first yellow leaves
spruce boughs
bird mind

early dusk
a friend mails me
a feather
fall begins
after a long absence
waking to rain

I’m unpacking
cat in my suitcase

a boat piled with lobster traps
chugs out of the harbor
