detouring
around the blowdowns
winter sun
winter twilight
the lingering funk
of the mudflats
a goldfinch sways
on a swaying birch
winter gale
Two ku on the theme of orange:
all-day snow
I pull on my orange
underwear
storm prep
a scrap of pumpkin
half-way up the oak
a hidden henge
of ancient hay bales
drifted snow
first snowstorm
the exuberance
of the plow guy
marital spat . . .
through window frost
the morning star
on the way
we pull over to watch
a hunting harrier
soundless snow . . .
the hawk’s eyes track
a squirrel
auld lang syne . . .
the burnished gold
of willow boughs
second day . . .
the clarity of light
on my way to work
