lilac breeze
the chatter of swifts
too high to see
a parula singing
in the rhubarb patch . . .
June begins
redstart’s song
from a beachside spruce
the perfect heart rock
a single catboat
tacking up the sound
wind-trimmed spruces
wild azalea
a deer trail crosses
the hiking trail
an audiobook’s sex scene —
apple blossoms blur
outside the car windows
dusk
horse chestnut candles
line a country road
lingering
at the empty mailbox
lilac breeze
soaking rain
birds flit behind
a screen of new leaves
wild strawberries flowering if only she were here
all morning
a grosbeak’s song loud and clear
apple blossoms
