porpoises to port . . .
the horizon holds back
a line of clouds
septic pumpout—
the men stand around
discussing dragonflies
foggy crossing
yellow swirls of pollen
proof of land
forest gloaming . . .
a host of white moths
rises on thrushsong
seaside roses . . .
morning fog moves
through my bones
sudden downpour
the wren’s repeated rattle
from garden’s edge
slug weather
a hole chewed through
an amanita’s cap
family plot
blue-eyed grass growing
from a baby’s grave
wavy window glass . . .
a vernal moth’s wings
translucent with sunlight
under a sky full of stars
the night bird’s
incessant cries
rain or poplars . . .
suddenly in the dark
birdsong
