five p.m.
a lone heron flaps
downriver
sometimes no
new ways to say anything
blank sky
spring snow
same old backyard
and yet…
late spring snow
disbelief all over
the tulips
spring bog
last fall’s cranberries
still sour
spring in Maine
purples and blues blooming
on the weather map
.
Batten down the hatches for another swing of the polar vortex this weekend!
dawn colors
my neighbor’s azalea
blossoming first
flat light
the river reflecting
all my moods
pandemic spring
the minor miracle
of azaleas
circling back
to our conversation
broad-winged hawk
freshet
the heron’s usual perch
