one town runs into another
every mile a different
lost cat poster
this fierce longing
for summer
tiger swallowtail
first peonies . . .
amid all the other birdsong
a dove’s low coos
early morning rush sugar ants
some stories
take all day to tell
red-eyed vireo
Somes Sound
thrush song rising
from the spruces
first hot day
swifts careen
over a parking lot
(Playing catch-up after a weekend of guiding at the Acadia Birding Festival with little free time to post.)
azalea garden
a woman all in pink
takes a selfie
faith
knowing by song alone
the red-eyed vireo
warm spell
another finch egg
in the back porch nest
southerly wind
the fog redolent
of lilacs
