falling leaves the yellow of the last warbler
the usual
back and forth of the nuthatch
fluorescent leaves
fall pruning
three bags of clothes
off to Goodwill
wine-red leaves drinking in the view
all-day rain . . .
I open the door thinking
the cat will stay in
believing in moon magic witch hazel flowers
yellow leaves . . .
the migrating warbler
dreams of jungles
technicolor leaves
the unfolding drama
of our neighbor’s roof work
neon buoys . . .
a small pod of porpoises
crosses the ferry’s wake
northwest wind along the shore trail the spray of sparrows
slow morning doves line up in the footpath
