spitting snow a swirl of white gulls over a dumpster
winter deepens
old hay bales bolster
a mobile home
afternoon daydreams
the faint tick of new snow
falling on old
snow pocked by rain . . .
some bayberry bushes
already picked clean
the play of morning light meditation
snow enough to plow . . .
a neighbor’s kitchen light on
at three a.m.
fresh snow . . .
where a deer bedded down
an oval of green
fresh snow
following fisher tracks
over the blowdowns
freezing rain I’ve made up my mind
glare ice
the broken arm
of an old birch
morning sky
our neighbor’s red roof
washed by rain
