shining dew . . .
a crow plucks at
the unripe crabapples
morning shower
washing my face
in rain-wet peonies
the wren singing every minute longest day
solstice sun
blackberries in flower
arch over the path
following seas . . .
drawn-out goodbyes
on the crowded wharf
tangles of seaweed
dry above the tide line
mermaid dreams
gale-whipped waves—
a soaring gull
careens past the wharf
porpoises to port . . .
the horizon holds back
a line of clouds
septic pumpout—
the men stand around
discussing dragonflies
foggy crossing
yellow swirls of pollen
proof of land
forest gloaming . . .
a host of white moths
rises on thrushsong
