the niggling thoughts
that keep me awake
worm moon
March wind
the old ways
of doing things
morning fog . . .
the loud clear song
of the fox sparrow
spring equinox
a pair of guillemots
halfway through their molt
morning fog . . .
the winter’s brush pile
burns on the beach
climbing the cliff trail
the exhaust
of a lobster boat
moonglow
through the bedroom window
the river’s white noise
shoulder massage . . .
the ease of the wild duck
flying past
talking about me
behind my back again
neighborhood crows
right on time . . .
vultures spiraling
northward
bent birches . . .
a strip of open water
links the lake islands
