pine needle path the way of the whirled
a lingering cough . . .
leaves rasp and skitter
down the sidewalk
a patch of aspens
gilding the old clearcut
kintsugi
all day rain too tired to
yellow leaves drifting down one more week of quarantine
persistent rain
in the distance one crow
calls to another
in full view
of the blushing maple
bare ash
a flash of insight
lost on waking—
Orionids
yellow aspens
without a sound a jay
becomes sky
a young sparrow
practicing its song
first frost
moonset
a window cracked
for the last crickets
