night wind . . .
the untethered star
a passing plane
shivering oak leaves . . .
a few pairs of wood ducks
forage for acorns
fading light
two ducks in the river
become rocks
new moon wandering a field of stars
frost lingers
in the pine’s shadow . . .
blackberry canes
a scolding squirrel
sputters and squeaks
morning chill
who owns this field wolf pine
morning frost
a Carolina wren
chatters in the garden
aurora alert . . .
through binoculars, colors
of a wood duck
the blue jay’s silence spitting snow
the guitar solo
goes on forever . . .
swirling leaves
