a deer trail
parallels the shore . . .
moss under fresh snow
wind chill
seals lying low
on the seal cam
third day sleeping through the bluebirds
second day
crows carry off
their tribute
first day
a squirrel scurries upward
with a mouthful of leaves
New Year’s Eve
a long line of cars
at the dump’s entrance
year’s end . . .
fog hides the breakwater
and its lighthouse
clear winter morning
scoters whistle past
the lighthouse
planning the day
over breakfast
backyard crows
winter surfers . . .
a raft of sea ducks drifts
into the sun’s glare
day after christmas
just one more
cookie
