wind chill
an eagle on lake ice
holds its pose
illuminated
by a host of gulls
fast-food dumpster
wide awake
the snow moon
centered in the skylight
Candlemas
bluebirds flickering
among the sumacs
snow-capped river rocks
one crow preens
the other
snow glare
how many bears
asleep up on the mountain
below zero snow buntings line a roof peak
ice-blue sky
a squirrel crosses the field
in our snowshoe tracks
a flock of horned larks
scattered among beach rocks
drifting snow
polar vortex
the UPS guy
still wearing shorts
the crow
wipes its bill on a branch
snow angels
