morning fog
in my mind I’m going to
Carolina wren song
childhood reflections ripples in the tide pool
cooing dove . . .
sun-warmed ferns
perfume the glade
shining dew . . .
a crow plucks at
the unripe crabapples
morning shower
washing my face
in rain-wet peonies
the wren singing every minute longest day
solstice sun
blackberries in flower
arch over the path
following seas . . .
drawn-out goodbyes
on the crowded wharf
tangles of seaweed
dry above the tide line
mermaid dreams
gale-whipped waves—
a soaring gull
careens past the wharf
