a flock of robins

riverside museum—
a dragonfly visits
a floating sculpture
following the creek trail fritillaries
25,000 feet
cloud shadows
crossing Lake Michigan
first red leaves
a squirrel peers in
the living room window
harvest moon
rising from the bay . . .
we start to hum Neil Young
spruce needle rain
the bird guide cocks his head
at a call note
sunlit webs
a goldfinch pauses
on the last coneflower
some of her ashes
drift in the current . . .
grey seals singing
morning chill . . .
the bathroom spider
back in her corner
sun on goldenrod the flicker’s fanned tail
