north wind
gulls eddying
above Casket Rock
gull clamor—
a seal’s bones
washed by surf
beach plums . . .
letting her in
on the secret
late summer
the tuna’s blue sheen
as it swings from the winch
new moon
lobster boats with women’s names
face into the tide
abandoned fog station
a swirl of gulls
above the perched eagle
night chill
waking to find
Orion in the window
lost in the stars . . .
distant flight calls
of migrating birds
moment of silence
a crow’s shadow
flies through mine
blustery morning
a panicked flicker
then the hawk
heavy sky
a crow flies off
with a throat full of peanuts
