autumn chill a kinglet’s unexpected song
an ocean rolling through the bell buoy’s clang
late-season sail
a diving gannet
catches light
she blows a kiss
out the car window
neon maples
Zugunruhe
a flock of robins
passing over the airport
riverside museum—
a dragonfly visits
a floating sculpture
following the creek trail fritillaries
25,000 feet
cloud shadows
crossing Lake Michigan
first red leaves
a squirrel peers in
the living room window
harvest moon
rising from the bay . . .
we start to hum Neil Young
spruce needle rain
the bird guide cocks his head
at a call note
