what light there is
lingering later
this planet’s tilt
cabin fever
talking back
to the wind
snow-heavy clouds
rearranging what’s left
of the woodpile
(for Mary Stevens and our Companionable Writing sessions)
blue sky through pines
easy to imagine
it’s not winter
night window
behind my reflection
the wind
bleak sky
following crows’ calls
to a perched eagle
rain turning to snow
a wren scolds
in the cedar hedge
late winter woods
the silence of passing
turkeys
brief thaw
green places on the map
lichen
what’s right with this world
fisher tracks follow
a fallen tree
fresh tracks
the distant whine
of a snowmobile
